How does Smart QR Tag work for the owner and the finder?

🎛️
You configure the data yourself

As the owner you decide what the finder sees. You can show a phone number, email, hotel address or just a contact form. The data range also changes depending on the mode: Home or Travel.

🔒
Disable the QR code with one click

Going on holiday and don't want anyone to see your details? Pause the tag - the page disappears or shows only a contact form.

Data changes automatically

Program what the finder sees depending on date and time. Traveling - hotel address. At home - phone only. Automatically.

🛡️
Security first

Repeated scanning from the same IP will be automatically blocked. Your data is protected from bots and stalkers.

🌍
10 languages for the finder

The finder page works in 10 languages: PL, EN, DE, FR, ES, IT, PT, RU, UK, CS. A finder from any country sees the information in their own language, significantly increasing the chance of contact and return.

💬
Anonymous form for the finder

The finder can contact the owner through a contact form without sharing their own details, without call costs and without knowing the language of the owner. The owner receives an email notification.

Frequently asked questions

Can I tag more than one item?
Yes - one account, one QR code, one link. Print the label as many times as you want and stick it on every bag. All scans come to you.
What does the finder see when they scan my QR code?
They see only what you decide to show - name, phone, email or hotel address. You can disable each field separately. Data is never publicly visible without scanning.
Does the QR code work without internet on the finder's phone?
A QR code is just a link - it requires internet to open. But any smartphone with a camera and internet (virtually every phone) can scan it without any app.
What happens when the subscription expires?
Your contact details will be hidden. The finder will see the tag exists but won't see the data - they can leave a message via anonymous form. Your QR code and URL never change.
Can I change the data on the label without printing a new one?
Yes - that's the biggest advantage of whostravel.ing. Change details in the panel and they work immediately. No need to print a new label. Same QR code, new information.
Can I use a QR tag on a bicycle?
Yes. A QR sticker on the frame lets hotel or parking staff quickly identify the owner. Data visible only after scanning, no phone number or address exposed on the frame.
Does the tag work on a baby stroller?
Yes. A stroller checked as airline luggage or left at the gate can quickly reach its owner. Airport staff scan and instantly know how to make contact.
Can I label a laptop backpack?
Yes. This is one of the most common uses. A backpack left on a train or at the airport, the finder scans the QR and sends a message through the form without sharing their details.
Does the QR tag work on sports equipment?
Yes, skis, snowboard, golf bag, diving gear. You can enter the current lodge or marina address before each leg so lost equipment can reach exactly where you are.
Can I label sailing gear?
Yes. Sailors change marinas, and the QR tag lets you update the current marina before each leg. If someone finds the gear, they see the current location, not the home port.
Does the tag work on skis when I change lodge last minute?
Yes. That is the biggest advantage over a regular tag. You update the details in the panel before each leg. Ski patrol scans and sees the current lodge, not the previous one.
